My mama had us in church so much, I used to look at my mama sometimes and say, “Mama, I’d rather go to hell. Cause this going to heaven is just way too much pressure! Don’t you get no credit for going last week?” (From Steve Harvey, The Original Kings of Comedy)

This is just a joke but sadly there are people out there who truly believe that being in the pew, or doing "good works", repenting and being baptized will get them into heaven. A lot of people are going to be shocked to find themselves on the other side of heaven's gates.

Mankind has complicated the gospel so that too many people are blinded to the truth. When one tries to show them the gospel, they turn a deaf ear. Why is that? Because some do not want to believe the truth. Refusing to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ is dangerous. Why? Because if you ask God for something for so long, He will give it to you. If you want to believe a lie, you will.

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Now, what is Truth?

The truth is that God offers salvation to everyone as a FREE gift. You do not have to do anything to get to heaven. You only need to TRUST in the fact that Jesus Christ, the son of God, died on the cross and rose from the dead for your sins.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Jesus Christ became the sacrificial lamb for us all. All of our sins are now forgiven. It was all done at the cross. So there is no need to confess what you have done wrong and pray for forgiveness. (If it makes you feel better, there is no harm.) But it does not determine whether or not you go to heaven. It does not determine whether or not you will or will not receive blessings. Once you have believed that Jesus paid for your sins, you are sealed. You cannot loose your salvation.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

 It is complete. To quote our Savior, “It is finished.”

Why would the Lord say that if it were not true? God never lies.God only asks that you trust in work that has already been done for you. He loves you. He does not want you to be fooled by those who want to restrain you. So, do not be deceived. God wants you to place your faith in the finished work of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And we can all live together in peace and in love forever in heaven.

 How simple is that?
